WHAT TO EXPECT

I will be fully present.

I will respectfully meet you where you are.

I will listen with openness.

I will provide a safe sanctuary.

I will tune into what’s emerging for you in the moment. I may educate, share a visual image, ask you to dig deeper, laugh, confront, sit in the silence with you, offer a different perspective, ask you to check in with your body, do a visualization exercise, invite you to draw, create a piece of music, or journal. I will certainly praise, congratulate and cheer you along.

Change means thinking and doing things differently ~ getting into action. With this in mind, I will encourage you to choose something you want to focus on between our sessions. By building awareness and practicing new thoughts and behaviors, you will feel empowered, grow in self acceptance, and believe in your ability to effect real change in your life.

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.Winston Churchill

Like a tightly coiled fern, each of us has the possibility to grow, uncurl, and flourish into our full potential. We come into the world with so much possibility. To adapt to our unique environments, we do the best we can, adjusting to fit in or get our needs met by developing creative solutions. We may: take on more responsibility, avoid confrontation, become controlling, dampen our feelings, try to be perfect, stop listening to our instinct, or use substances to cope. In order to function we remain curled up, until excruciating pain pushes us to seek change. It is here that we have the opportunity to find light, water, and fertile ground to gently uncurl, to grow and open to all that we truly are.
